Catherine Chandler, a detective, witnessed her mother being shot and is trying to find out why, when she meets Vincent Keller, who also saved Catherine from being shot. They learn how to help each other and still keep a secret agency from discovering Vincent is still alive, after the agency had injected Vincent with something that gives him powers.
